Introduction
After viewing the documentary Food Inc, our group was intrigued by the effects of pesticides in produce and all of the food that we consume. We began to research organic foods and we wanted to see if organic foods really were a better alternative. After conducting our interviews for our oral history project, we conducted further research to find out more about the comparison between organic foods and non organic foods. Throughout our project you will clearly see the differences between the two. Although some people say that organic foods don't taste as good as non organic foods, we conducted a taste testing and the participants actually liked the organic foods better!
Our main research question:
Why should organic foods be the number one choice that people make?
Secondary research questions:
1. What are the benefits of eating organic and locally grown products?
2. How does eating organic and locally grown foods affect your body as compared to products that are sold in the supermarket?
3. Is buying healthy foods financially beneficial and is it affordable?
4. Why are people choosing the foods that they buy?
5. Are consumers aware of the food industry?

Abstract
For this project we started with a simple plan we were going to conduct an interview with the woman that Alissa babysits for and go from there. Alissa's employer eats organic and we were curious as to how that affected things like her finances or how she chose restaurants. When the interview was completed Katie told us that she had also conducted an interview with someone close to her who eats a non-restricted diet. This led to the descision to compare things side by side. David took this to the next logical step by conducting a highly unscientific survey by blindfolding several of his friends and feeding them both organic and inorganic produce and asking them which they preferred. While we strived for uniformity on each of the project pages some of the pages have slight variations which fits with our different approaches to data collection. This project built around the juxtaposition aims to lead people toward the organic lifestyle. Pursuent of this we have provide resources for organic eating such as cookbooks and recipes. We found that while traditional cookbooks were widely available, cookbooks that focus on the use of organic foods are not widely available. Our research was based on how building up orgainc food which we believe dispite the price is worth the added cost.
